We realise the importance of having one’s voice heard and our employees’ feedback, views and opinions on how we run the business and treat employees is considered extremely valuable. Through our Site Employee Forums (SEFs) and Group Employee Forum (GEF) we have a formal protocol in place which promotes the discussion of matters such as financial performance, employee relations, Health and Safety and Group-wide initiatives, amongst others.
Our SEFs are held regularly in all of our businesses. They provide a platform for employee communication and for the discussion and exchange of ideas and opinions on different employee matters at site level. The SEF members also play a significant social role at their sites, arranging functions and entertainment for their colleagues and encouraging participation in community initiatives and fund raising.
In addition to the local SEFs our formal GEF takes place every year. Employees across the Group are represented by nominated SEF members from each business unit. The GEF provides a platform for discussion on topics affecting the whole Group, with particular focus on employee matters. At the GEF, we acknowledge people for their dedication during the year by recognising the best SEFs and Employee Representatives.
