Employees of Bakkavör Group raise £76.000 for Tsunami disaster fund
Many employees in London affected by Tsunami disaster
The employees of Bakkavör Group have in recent days raised a total of £20.000 among themselves for the Tsunami disaster fund. The Board of Directors has in response to their efforts decided to match their contribution and donate £20.000 to the fund. The management and employees have also decided to cancel their annual festivities and instead donate the cost relating to them to the fund. Altogether the Group and employees will contribute £76.000.
Agust Gudmundsson chairman:
“Many employees of the Group in London originate from the disaster areas and have either lost relatives or have relatives which have been affected by the disaster in other ways. We express our deepest sympathy with them. We are very proud of our employees who initiated the fundraising and have given generously in an effort to express their sympathy with their fellow colleagues and victims of the disaster. It is our social responsibility to contribute to the relief work in any way we can and aid survivors of this most terrible catastrophe of our times.”
